UN WOMEN USNC LA Chapter Meeting
Join us for the first chapter meeting of 2016 as we discuss the UN Women Global Safe Cities Initiative and solutions for creating safe public spaces free from violence and harasment against women and girls.
Safe Cities LA (SCLA)
The chapter's 'Safe Cities LA Initiative' began in early 2013 and was launched with an event in 2014. Please see the call-to-action video (https://vimeo.com/90789302). The event was well received by the community. Both the City of Los Angeles and the City of Santa Monica issued proclamations making January 11th, Safe Cities for Women and Girls Day in their respective cities. At that time we launched a Call-to-Action which was meant to engage and inspire the many cities throughout the Los Angeles region to join the UN Women Global Safe City Initiative.
