Earth Harp Event
PERFORMING 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm
Saturday, January 19th, 2013
St. Vibiana Church
The Yoga & Earth Harp Experience is a unique and moving yoga & music workshop, where participants practice blending yoga postures and focused intention under the strings of the extraordinary Earth Harp, the world's largest stringed instrument. The Earth Harp places participants inside the instrument, as the golden strings span out from the stage and use the architecture or landscape to create a 50 ft - 1000 ft harp. The remarkable sonic vibration of the Earth Harp creates ascending overtones and healing harmonics that not only provide the perfect soundtrack for the yoga practice, they also transmute and sublime one's energy to promote physical/energetic health and creative inspiration.

The workshop is led by international performing artist and yoga teacher, Andrea Brook (www.yogagirl.com). Andrea has been teaching yoga since 1998 and has lead workshops and retreats around the world including the Omega Institute, the TED Conference, and festivals including Wanderlust, Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and the Envision Festival in Costa Rica. Her classes, workshops and retreats are designed to take you on a tour of your Self, a tour to reconnect you to your own wisdom through your body's expressions, your emotional responses and your mind's dialogue between anxiety and true understanding. She uses the chakras as a framework to help individuals to facilitate change in their lives. Andrea and the Yoga & Earth Harp Experience are featured in Yoga Journal Italy, July/August 2012, and in this beautiful video by LightWorks Creative: http://vimeo.com/40691933#.
As a performing artist, Andrea has toured internationally with the Earth Harp since 2001, transforming theaters, architecture and natural environments into large-scale musical instruments and musical landscapes, including the Temple at Burning Man, the Coliseum in Rome, the Space Needle in Seattle, the Grand Theater in Shanghai, a 9th Century castle in Italy and most recently La Parroquia, the beautiful cathedral in the center square of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
The workshop will be taken to yet another level as Onyay Pheori (www.onyaypheorimusic.com), a vocalist, violinist, recording & performing artist, adds her magic. Onyay has combined her years as a healer, shamanic guide and kundlini yoga teacher with her professional music career to bring healing and transformational entertainment to audiences around the world. Her experimental lyrics and hypnotic melodies explore love, loss, longing, bliss, sensuality, intimacy, freedom, illusion, consciousness, the peaks, the valleys and the journey of being human in a forever changing world. Onyay began a 7 Year Quest called 33 Muses in 2005 traveling to sacred sites opening up to the mysteries and frequencies beyond this world. At each site crowds gathered transfixed by her sound, sharing these experiences through music and multi-media performance.
Onyay is currently in the studio writing and recording on 5 different projects with inspiring musicians and producers in a range of styles for film and television. Several of these albums include her dreamy down-tempo project, melodic, alternative rock band and her other-worldly solo album. She has been traveling around the world the last 4 years performing with MASS Ensemble/The Earthharp Collective. Onyay recorded violin on a bonus track for grammy winning Herbie Hancock's "The Imagine Project" and shot a music video, 'Visitation', with a mystical and environmental theme, which appeared in the Portraits Assignment at Flatbed Press in Austin, Texas. She also wrote and recorded "The World is Ready" with grammy winning producer, Jeff Bova, that was used in the tck tck tck campaign's International celebrity PSA raising awareness for climate change.
